Every DIMM slot is a business decision for scale-up databases: 64 DDR5 slots at 4800 MT/s give SAP HANA and Oracle the memory footprint to hold the working set in RAM, eliminating disk-backed I/O stalls. The 1:1 CPU-to-I/O design with PCIe Gen5 adapters keeps each socket’s memory bandwidth local to its I/O, which is exactly what NUMA-sensitive database workloads need. For analytics and AI acceleration, up to 4 x 400 W double-width GPUs slot into the Gen5 risers without sacrificing storage bays.

Storage & RAID

Front bays scale from 8 to 32 x 2.5-inch SAS/SATA (up to 491.52 TB), with dedicated all-NVMe layouts up to 24 x 2.5-inch NVMe (368.64 TB) or mixed 16 SAS + 8 NVMe. RAID duty falls to PERC H965i (tri-mode) or H755 with BOSS-N1 providing hardware-RAID M.2 boot; HBA355i/HBA465i and external HBA355e/HBA465e cover non-RAID and JBOD expansion, plus S160 software RAID for entry tiers.

Network & PCIe Expansion

Twelve PCIe Gen5 x16 slots (including double-width full-length) host GPU accelerators, 100/400GbE adapters, HCA or storage controllers. Networking is modular: an optional 2 x 1GbE LOM card and an optional OCP 3.0 card (up to 100GbE class) – LOM, OCP, or both, per the spec.
