Three Rules for Ordering This DIMM
1. Match DIMMs within a channel. Every DIMM on the same memory channel must be identical — same capacity, same speed bin, same rank count, same vendor. Mixing a Samsung 64 GB with an SK hynix 64 GB on the same channel forces both DIMMs to train down to the slowest common timing supported by both vendors. Buy DIMMs in matched kits.
2. Populate all channels before going 2DPC. If your server has 16 memory channels (dual-socket Xeon) and you need 1 تيرابايت, order 16x 64 غيغابايت (one per channel) في 5600 جبل/ق. Do not order 16x 64 GB and populate them in 8 channels at 2DPC — the speed drops to 4800 MT/s and you lose 14% bandwidth. Same DIMM count, same total capacity, different channel population, different performance.
3. Check the platform QVL. This Samsung 64 GB part (M321R8GA0BB0-CQK or equivalent) is on the Dell PowerEdge 16th Gen and xFusion FusionServer V7 QVL. If your platform is an earlier generation (14th Gen, V6), verify QVL compatibility — not all DDR5 RDIMMs are backward-compatible with DDR4 platforms, and not all DDR5-5600 DIMMs train correctly on DDR5-4800 native platforms.
