One DIMM per channel at 4800 MT/s delivers full rated speed. Two DIMMs per channel drop to 4400 MT/s (3DS RDIMM) ou 4800 MT/s (standard RDIMM, platform-dependent). For a dual-socket server with 16 canaux mémoire, ordering 16x 32 GB at 1DPC gives you full bandwidth on all 16 canaux. Ordering 32x 32 GB forces 2DPC on all 16 channels — no speed penalty on standard RDIMMs at this density, but you lose the option to expand later. Leave half the slots empty if your workload fits in 512 Go; populate all 32 slots only if you need 1 TB.
